1 Introduction
The Sandberg USB 2.0 Amplifier (referred to as the ˇ±USB amplifierˇ±) enables you to extend the length of cable between your computer and USB devices by up to 20 metres. You can also connect up to four USB amplifiers to achieve a total cable length of up to 25 metres.
2 Installation
Plug the USB amplifier into the USB port* in your computer, and then connect your USB device to the amplifier's socket. You can also connect a USB 2.0 hub to the USB amplifier, enabling you to connect several devices.
NB: The USB amplifier has a built-in active amplifier with a power consumption of 100 mA. A standard USB port operates with a power of 500 mA, which means that the combined power consumption of the USB amplifier and connected device(s) must not exceed this value.
Tip: If you connect a USB hub or another USB device with its own power supply to the USB amplifier, the power to the devices will be supplied by the USB amplifier. This enables you to connect devices with a power consumption of up to 500 mA.
If the USB amplifier is connected to a USB 1.1 port, Windows will attempt to install a USB 2.0 compatible device. Click ˇ°Cancelˇ±, as the port does not support this standard. |
